Tennant Truck Lines, Inc. is proudly sponsoring Walk & Run for Wishes on September 28, 2013, at the Green Valley Sports Complex in Moline, IL. This is a great day to have a little fun while making wishes come true for children with life-threating medical conditions. Also, it’s a great opportunity for family and friends to dress up as their favorite characters and enjoy a 5K run or a leisurely one mile walk.
Thanks to events like this, a special wish came true for a sweet little princess named Kaylee, who lives in our area. Kaylee is a 6 year old girl from Port Byron, IL. She lives in a happy home full of life with her mom, dad, older twin brothers, and two dogs. When Kaylee was born, her family quickly learned her liver wasn’t working properly and she would have to have a transplant. Fortunately, Kaylee received a successful transplant and is doing well with medications.
Kaylee parents describe her as a ray of sunshine, a very happy little girl who enjoys anything to do with water, especially swimming. She loves princesses, and her favorite colors are pink, purple, and green. Knowing that, it’s no surprise her wish was to visit Disney World so she could meet her favorite princesses in real life. One very exciting day for Kaylee, a limo arrived at her home to take her and her family to the airport. Not long after, they arrived in Florida and stayed in the “Give Kids the World Village”, a resort especially for children with life-threating illnesses. Next, Kaylee was welcomed in the Magic Kingdom where she met some of her favorite princesses and sat down for dinner with Cinderella and Prince Charming.
There are many more children like Kaylee, with big wishes we can help make come true through Make-A-Wish Foundation of Illinois. Help us on September 28, 2013 to work towards doing so. Every wish makes a positive change in a child’s life. Come out to Green Valley Sports Complex in Moline; enjoy the exercise, music, and refreshments.
